Why oh why didn't we get weather like this back in July when it was warm enough to swim without a wetsuit and termal blanket waiting back aboard?
These were all taken yesterday - one of the (if not the actual) best days of the year so far. Apologies for the quality - I was out solo and only had the camera phone.
Taken on the way out of Poole - there were a lot of boats out.
From the East Looe Channel the beaches looked very inviting.
View SW from the EL Channel. So calm.
After a quick blat down to Bournemouth I could see that there were some mad impetuous fools in the water!
Looking back towards Purbeck it really was a flat calm.
Another quick blat towards Old Harry and saw this beauty heading for Studland - too slow - she was gone before I could get a decent shot. The Jurassic coast looked good in the sunshine though.
Looking back towards Bournemouth from off Old Harry.
Thought I'd stick my nose into Swanage to see if any buddies around - it looked fantastic in the sun.
View looking East from Swanage - nobody much around at all.
After picking up a buoy and chilling out the whole afternoon at Studland I headed back into the harbour to catch the 6:30 bridge.
Sunset came quite quickly, but there were still lots of boats about - and the sunset itself was gold, then deepest red. A truly memorable day.
