Worst nightmare

I wouldn't be too worried about your topsides. By the end of the winter all your stern gear will have fizzed away.

He has a lot of anodes hanging in the water, connected by wire to the hull. I was thinking about starting a thread about this;)

you've presumably slipped the marina staff some folding stuff to get it moved ?

if you need any further advise on how to do this there are some experienced ex DT staff to approach :)
Unfortunately, I practically got on my hands and knees to beg the capitainerie for this place:(. My neighbor must have been out cruising at the time:(

How about a plank of wood between your fenders, quite common over here if you’re tied up to a concrete pier. Doesn’t look nice but does the job.

From your pic, your neighbour doesn’t appear to have stern cross spring lines on or have I got that wrong.

It would calm down stern lateral movement at least. Be worth supplying the rope :)

Boards over the fenders is a good idea....used tyres are cheap too

You could always connect a wire from your stern gear to his boat and use his hull as an anode.

Stay there long enough and you'll have killed two birds with one stone!

Get a river berth. I cant stand the ghettoes either. Seastoke is there for one. I might get soap and polish spatter and have to put up with his inane drivel while he fettles with his fenders.

I have a river berth. That’s why I have to move to a port every winter, there is a risk of flooding in the river:disgust:
The SoF isn’t one of those places where you just park wherever you feel like, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to charge hundreds of thousands for very short leases:(

What are the maths like for putting it in a hanger over the winter ? Skipping winter boating in a absence make the heart grow fonder kinda way .
Winter boating is what I do. In the past I have put my boat into hibernation during the summer and put it on the water only for the winter. My wife prefers not to boat during peak season, the heat the crowd etc, she’s talked about going to the mountains :disgust:
We have just paid over 1500 for the privilege of this place in the port (that’s on top of my year round fee for being in the river for six months, yes that’s correct, six months use, twelve months fee).
What is more, I have the best place in the port! I begged for this place :(. It’s at the end of the pontoon, nearest the harbor entrance. Which is the reason it’s exposed to the wind more, and therefore slews excessively.

I wish I’d talked to my neighbor before I wrote this thread:disgust:
It would be nice to be there at the same time with him during a storm. My French isn’t so good, so a little demo from the heavens would help in my communications
