World's most expensive RIB?

They are mighty expensive bits of kit but there are plenty of leisure ribs for more than that money.

nice touch tho, wish i had the money to do the same!

It only says that he paid to fund it, that may include running costs, a bit of training and maybe a new trailer and tractor. It doesn't explain specifically.

from here in 2005

The large RIBs that you usually see around the coast are Atlantic 75s or in some cases the older Atlantic 21s. As you would expect from a craft costing about £80,000 the Atlantic 75 is an incredible craft, well set up by the engineers at Cowes and totally suited to the tasks to which it is put.

Well - according to the report- they go back to Cowes for a rebuild every 4 years - I don't know if they replace the tubes at that point - but I guess it depends on wear - the tubes are fairly well protected in anycase.

I know they have a bit of equipment on them, but how much money should the RNLI really pay for a RIB. £150k sounds to me like they use the MOD to do their procurement.

On the RNLI site a Class B Atlantique 85 costs £180k (or €210k.) Their Class D 5m costs £39k (€45k).

The French use English made Pascoe SR 5's, SR 6's and SR 7's. Their respective budgets per unit are €27k, €38k and €77k.
