that's a good idea. For a slightly less tall boat, attach a car trailer to the tow ball and a jack under the tail to stabilise it. Should take you up a couple of feet.

That looks like the same kind of thing that Sailfree is recommending. Seems like a safe and sensible option.
The smallest one looks like just the job, but how quickly can it be erected/dismantled, can it be transported by car and can it be manoeuvred easily in the confines of a crowded boatyard ?

It's very light, fits in the back of my Mitsubishi 4x4, or on a roof rack, and to go to first lift takes only a few minutes. Only complaint was the hole for the bottom stabliser bit didn't line up so I had to drill 2 new ones.
