My boat has a Hurth reverse gear. I need to replace the small friction plates. Has anybode done this. Is it possible doing this yourself. I heard i should use hydraulic pressure to reassemble.

At the the moment the gear is open but the main piece (the vertical axis) is still closed. It's here that the plates are situated.

Has anybody a workshop manual? Or good advice? Its a Hurth 250.

Is it the HBW 50 2R you have, I have a manual somewhere for that model, other wise you could speak to a Paul Bell at First Marine Propulsion, on 01238 225 944.
or ZF Great Britian, on, 01159 869 211.
But make Colin Heggs, on, 01159 355 426, your first choice for techn info.
Cheers, Eamonn.
