Ah yes, well what was the one in NFL? are you sure it wasne the pine bar as well? - I'l check next time I'm passing by - I mean what else does one do in NFL except pass by QUICKLY before the natives realise you are there.

How you doin'?

Still here. Bit busy at the old work - desk is a mess just now and I have to come back here every so often to have a rest from sailing.

Away on thursday night - racing to Bangor from Kip - and back. Looking forward to it as its not my boat - a Sigma 38.

Getting sort of ready for the annual expedition ..... will be in Tobe 19th July and 3 weeks cruising after that. You still away at the same time?

1. that wasn't you sitting in Rothesay on Saturday night was it????

2, Finally got to see your dolphins - a first for me after 40+ years sailing. Off Toward friday night about 9.30pm came over to us and played round the boat then headed to Bogany Point - all in all about 30 mins of sheer pleasure for both of us.

Managed to get only one picture of them - My digi camera has a hell of a delay after pushing the button. It wasn;t until a friend mentioned that I should have used the video selection - sometimes I really feel stupid....

Rothesay approx 5.00pm? Went across for a fish supper. Moored on the west pontoon as my boat helms like a coo right now untill I get the outboard linked to the rudder.

Were they dolphins or porpoises that you saw? Must admit that I have been a bit dissapointed my last two outings as EVERY other outing I had at least one sighting. Pretty emotional moments when I see them!
Been having a pretty good season (after my early calamity) and hoping to take at least a week soon and have a cruise down Arran way and possibly up Loch Fyne. How is your season going?

We went along to the India Pavilion. Great curry. Had been racing round the Cumbraes on saturday - bit knackered at the end. Came out from the curry and you had gone.

They were dolphins. I have see lots and lots of porpoise - but they were much bigger and leaping about round the boat, coming right up to the boat at speed, leaning over and loojing up... fantastic!

Season is going really well. Off this weekend to Bangor - a couple of quiet weekends then Tobermory race from Rothesay on 17 July. Up the west coast for 3 weeks. Bliss.

Korean food is magic - Kim-chi sour pickled cabbage with chillies - yummy
Calvi, bulgoggi, Roose. and the Soju, weel ma wee freen let my tell you these orientals do know how to make booze - comes in small bottles like about 175 ml and after about 4 the film stops and you party on - no memory of the previous night after about the 4th bottle - come round the next day and check the ceiling - can you see it, can you focus on it, do you recognise it, yes, yes and yes then you are in your own bed. Don't move yet just in case your head falls on the floor - go back to sleep and wait until you wake up properly and can roll your head to the side without too much pain check if alone or not, try to remember if you went out alone last night, try to remember who she is and where you found her.
If still feeling rough nip next door to the local dog restaurant and have some poodle or whatever looks good.
For those of you who have never eaten dog - it is very good and is easily digested unlike other red meats. The really good dog is that where the dog has been "blow-lamped" - gets the adrenalin going and makes the meat even more tender.

Chilli? you know when you have a good one when you break out into a sweat, cannot speak even to scream "adjema, aurum mul juseao" try to wash away the pain with soju but makes the pain worse, shovel handfuls of cold sliced radish in the gob and pray, decide it ain't working so try another chilli - this one does not burn so badly so have another - soon realise you have no taste buds left, your tongue has swollen to twice its normal size and you have blisters on your lips from the capsicum - man what a feeling. More soju and "teupsaedae" Soju - distilled rice wine - £0.50p per bottle for good stuff - cheaper for the "JW red label" variety

The next morning, if you survive, you have a new appreciation for J.Cash's "burning ring of fire" - good idea to make sure you have a good supply of ice cubes handy and not the ones with sharp edges!

Better going to dog restaurant.

One good thing here is there are no vegetarian restaurants. So you don't have some tree hugger complaining coz you are having beef or dog or pig - carnivores paradise

Hi Cliff
Always found Korean food rather "challenging" but went on a tour of China last year and really had my eyes opened and my cullinery horizons broadened. Was eating cicadas (big bugs) big grub like things (twice the size of your thumb!) and scorpions, oh and raw jelly fish.

Normally wouldn't be able to even look at it but after a few stout mai tais (firewater) I was up for anything!!!

Feel that if I can eat haggis (which I adore) I can adopt a positive perspective on most food.

Agreed - the trick is a few Mai Tai or Soju first then dont think about what you are eating - suprisingly most ot the "chop chop" is very tasty - I've developed a liking for silk worms either boiled or shallow fried. SHMO cannot even look at them never mind eat them (she doesn't drink Soju either) - I do draw the line at eating live ones though.
