Hi
Hope you guys don't mind me posting here (normally on Mobo /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

I have been contacted by an estate in Mid Wales who have 2 classic wooden boats they wanted a valuation on, with a view to selling to try and recover debt.
Commercially this is not a viable option as these are restoration projects. They may however have a value to a Classic enthusiast who has the time money and patience to restore.

If anyone is interested please pm me and i will give the details. I have no commercial interest in this and am passing the info on purely as I think it would be a shame if these 2 boats end up as firewood.

Regards
Julian

Although an enthusiast might be able to make something worth while out of them with the expenditure of Time, Labour and Cash, worn-out old boats are still worn-out old boats. Even the cost of advertising them may well exceed their value. Some years ago I was looking at some old ex-fishing boats in an inlet down the coast, and an old gaffer who was obviously a local said to me "Aaargh, there's a club in the city an' those people will pay anything to get a boat like this!" I told him that I was the then president of that club, and the members definitely wouldn't pay very much at all for a boat like that.
Peter.
