Bizarrely, Cleone has plywood water tanks, which are now slowly disintegrating. They are still structurally sound, and rather than rebuild completely (time and cash preclude this) I'm looking for a home grown solution.

a) Re-face the insides of the tanks with a thin epoxy/grp cloth finish.
b) Coat the inside faces with a flexible rubber paint.
c) Lining the inside with a waterproof membrane (poly sheeting?) and sealant combo.

Opinions on these and other potential solutions most welcome.

I had big wooden water tanks on a yacht I was on, they were big enough to get inside. We had a leak in one, it turned out to be at the hatch, however before discovering this we lined it with polyester grp and repainted with epoxy paint which left a nice finish, if your timber is sound I'm sure something similar would be good. Not a difficult job, just a question of getting the timber dry first. I think it'd be the preferred option as it would add strength and integrity as well as waterproofitude.
