I wasn't sure where to post this but thought this forum best...
Below are some pictures of a "BoatLamp" that has been in my family for years. I remember as a child (born 1961!) it sitting on top of my Grandad's TV. After he died ~1970 my Mum gave me it. It is rather special to me.

I think it may have been made either by my Grandad, who was an Art Teacher, or more likely by his father (my Great Grandad for those paying attention) who was a Cabinet Maker. It may have been made at the turn of the century, around 1900 - not sure!
It has been modified a little since I took ownership:
- I replaced the twin "flex" with a more modern plastic one. Also the bulb holder and bulb. Bulb holder was brass and wasn't earthed! The "sail" got a bit melted by the original 25watt bulb so it is now LED.
- The cockpit is a jolly useful storage area for the liferaft/canister - aka a spare bulb in a box!
- She got dismasted - the mast broke at deck level. A metal tabernackle was fashioned, which I acquired in the plumbing dept of B&Q Yacht Chandlers.

I haven't a clue what kind of boat design was used, if any, in the construction. Is she a copy of anything known? The mast is unstayed and each mainsail has three holes for sheets to be attached and led aft to the stern fairlead and cleat. They are dust collecters so I've removed them. The hull is heavy and is almost certainly a solid block of hardwood of some kind. She won't be making an appearance on Antiques Roadshow - too "valuable" for that...
Your thoughts would be appreciated - thanks.

Edit: If it helps my Mother's family holidayed at Millport/Great Cumbrae on the Clyde and sailed a bit!
