I'm trying to find a place to install a windlass on my comfortina 32. as you can see there is no room in front of the chain locker cover. so how can I install it ? any ideas ?

Clearly never designed for a windlass. The only way is to create a new chain locker aft of the current one, presumably taking space from the forecabin and use a deck mounted windlass. Typical Scandinavian boat designed for local conditions where anchoring, particularly from the bow is not common. Makes it difficult when you want to take the boat elsewhere in places where good anchoring gear is essential.

Always a compromise, and even if you do decide to go that route the bow fitting and the space around the the forestay fitting will severely restrict the sort of anchor you can use. When you get to the Med you will need a good 15kg modern anchor and a robust bow roller plus probably 50m of 7 or 8mm chain.

What exactly is the problem with installing a windlass behind the chain locker?

Here's the setup on Avy-J, works very well

I was going to say something similar and mention hawse pipe re-routing for access to the chain locker but being a newbie I shut up until I saw your post. They do have a great looking deck though so a perfectionist job will be called for. My first windlass was a royal lofrans, then wentvelectric.

It is not a problem installing a windlass, or creating a chain locker further aft. However look again at the current forestay fitting and the skinny little bow roller and it will need a whole new stemhead fitting. It is possible that a manual windlass could be mounted where the existing locker lid is, but doubt there is enough capacity in the locker below to take a decent amount of chain. The OP is taking his boat from Denmark to Turkey and the current anchoring arrangements are totally inadequate.

Yes you are right of course. I had to fit a whole new stemhead fitting with an offset lead to port or stbd for the chain on my first ever cruiser. Massively over engineered but that is the way I like it. Good luck to them. Great decking- again
