I knew nothing of this. I would have thought the 'Old Bill' would have contacted me to turn out with my Launch to help search after all they no longer have suitable craft themselves.

Police as a rule don't start asking members of the public to lend them their boats to search for someone who may or may not be in the river.

Certainly not down our end anyway.

Any update on this.
Locally a young man was reported as going into the river last week near Rochester Road bridge, nothing was found by several local boats pressed into action by police or a helicopter.
No one reported missing either.

Mates fishing that bit this weekend said no body found but she is still missing think that there is little doubt that she went in sadly now just a matter of time till she pops up somewhere sadly ,search dogs indicated her track ended right where I was fishing ....so so sad but there it is
