Hello all. I'm new to the forum as in this being my very first posting. I've followed a lot of the subjects and replies from over Syd's shoulder.

Apart from Pauline B and Titch there doesn't seem to be a lot of women's questions or points of view, so I was wondering if we could have an evening where all the wives, girlfriends or partners get on the forum and talk about all the things that we do on our boats.
What do you all think guys? Will you let your other halfs have a go. It could be very interesting. I'm sure Eileen has a few stories to tell.

Bye for now

Debbie

New men?She wouldn't believe that if she'd seen everyone falling over their own feet, scratching their ar*es, and belching copiously last weekend.

I can see that a 'certain' topic is never going to die...bit like Nicho's gay thread.....anyway, back to this topic.

No flippin way!

If you want to chat to SWMBO try the Tupperware forum she'll be on there chatting about the latest tool for getting soap suds out of the seals on sandwich boxes, and how the latest generation of marigolds are far superior to the old ones.

Me I'll be out huntin racoon and grilling road kill on the barbie if you need me.

Brilliant idea Debbie

I'll get KarenE fired up for this. Wed eve's would be good (after 9 as she does her part 1 bricklaying 6.30 til 8 and likes to take a shower and some red meat afterwards).

Best wishes!

"talk about all the things that we do on our boats"

Let's hope they wouldn't rather complain about what we DON'T do...

I check out the chat most evenings so would be up for a 'womens hour'. I would like to know if I am the only woman that seems to do all the things on my boat apart from drive, shout orders and wait for the next meal to be served!

Blimey! No way! This is my little domain, the one thing left to me in life. Eileen confiscated everything else when we got married, she thinks I'm working when I'm on here - earning money for her to spend on clothes and bingo.

Oh eck Syd .... what have you done!
Look it's not our fault that someone bashed your new Regal now is it...

OK if you lot must join in hear are a few suggestions for topics to discuss.

1, The best way to throw ropes over those sticky up things on the pontoon.
2, Do you collect the fenders from the left or right side first.
3, What does he mean when he says starboard?
4, Which chandlery has the nicest selection of wooly jumpers?
5, I think he has got another woman stored in the engine room.
6, When HE locks the keys in the boat why is it always MY fault.

There that should keep you going for a while.

Re: We can call the new women\'s section the Galley

it will operate between 3 and 5 am

Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'you're making a scene'.

Welcome, welcome, welcome. Don't listen to them, they don't mean it really. There are a few of us girlies, and occasionally we do have something to say, and not always gossip. I don't think I've ever mentioned washing up or cooking, cleaning, upholstery or other supposed girlie pursuits. Look forward to more girl stuff. Like, I know how to do an engine check, but what if everything isn't clean, and how do I now lift the engine hatch, now it's all in one large piece, and too heavy?
