Wives matter

. . . But the wife is firm and to some extent she is right ,another two feet will increase the internal space without making it a too big boat to handle .Instead of 23 feet a 25 footer would be ok.

But you are not looking at the difference between a 23 foot boat and a 25 foot boat.

You are looking at the difference between a 23 foot boat and no boat.

We spent a few happy summers floating around on our Eventide 24. Then we spent a weekend on my friends 37 ft something or other, up for sale goes the Eventide because the 37 footer had a separate bog and shower which the wife liked

We could use”post it “ notes……..as long as it was in lower case!
What is wrong with the internet or phone?
You could send pictures of yourself in different poses to indicate what you mean:cry:
You know, pre arranged pictures
You could do poses for "pull it up", "port" "stbd","pull it in" & "full ahead" etc
I am sure you could think of some to suit most instructions.
A bit like the old days with code flags

I hadn't thought of sign language as finger semaphore, before...

I seem to recall that the French were masters of the art. I believe that there are still semaphore stations still standing around their coast. I wanted to explore the one at L'aberwrach, but time did not permit. Certainly an interesting place to visit.
There’s one on Porquerolles…but it’s still owned by the military…so can’t get too close

If you are ever in the area, there's one near the M25/A3 interchange that is open to the public.
