wire thickness

Ok so i finally bought myself some electrical instrumentation to monitor my electrical / battery status.

What wire thickness should be used from the alternator / regulator exciter line to the instrument ?

I imagine anything you like. There should be negilible current flow and so even the thinest wire will be adequate.

As you know with long cable runs and resistance the volts drop hence the need for thicker multi core cable .
I have the 100A1 spec sheet somewhere so if you need the equation I can find it.
As long as the cable run is not to far then standard cable will be fine .
