Winterizing Mercruiser D4.2L Engine

Hi All,

I need to replace the closed water coolant ready for winter.

Can anyone advise on the following points?

1, where is the closed water drain on the Mercruiser D4.2L?
2, Can I flush the system by running a hose into the header tank while the engine is running or do I need to connect the hose to another inlet?

It is but not until the spring, want to replace the anti freeze now

Hi Andy

The coolant in there is only a year old both replaced with fresh when you bought her. You will get another season before ideally changing it.

The starboard will be drained when we remove the heads so you will be doing it twice.

Hi mate, don't I have to drain it to put the washing tab in?
