I am putting this post out for those of you who might have thought about going to the Red Sea this winter. We are a few boats going down in October. We have already been there several years now and are more than happy to share with our knowledge when it comes to prices, places, procedures, the Suez Canal, insurances, etc.

You might want to join us on the whole trip or part of the trip, or simple just get some information in order to sail down on your own

Answer to this thread or contact me directly by clicking on my signature on the left.

There is absolutely no financial incentive for me with this message so I hope it is appropriate to post it here.

Have a good one,
Per

Hi Per,
We are thinking of wintering in Abutig or somewhere with a good liveaboard community in the winter. At present in Marmaris Turkey and would be interested in any information you can give.

Red Sea

We are very interested in wintering in the Red Sea. We are making our way to Turkey via Crete, Rhodes etc. We will be in the Dalaman region early June to meet family for two weeks no plans after that?

Hi Sailaway II,

We have spent yet another winter season in the Red Sea and are right now in Port Said on our way back up to Greece.

This winter was very nice as usual but also very interesting with the demonstrations/revolution which will probably affect yachts some way or another. I had a meeting with the CEO of Felix Agency last night and am still sorting out my thoughts as to what changes we will see in the future.

Please contacts me via email and I can send you a document I wrote regarding all aspects of going through the Suez Canal and sailing in the Red Sea.

Cheers,
Per
