We are going to be cruising the coast line of Norway for the next few years and planning on spending the winter months in Denmark or southern Sweden. Does anybody have any first hand experience of these areas/recommend marinas suitable for livaboards/cost etc

Have you thought of Germany? My boat is currently ashore in the Marina Neuhof.

Can I suggest Stralsund? It is a big city, with good rail lnks, and it has a good marina [the CityMarina]. I think I was paying about 12 euros a day, but they'll probably give a cheap winter deal.

Stralsund is only about 40 miles from Klintholm in Denmark, so it's easy enough to get to.

I live in sweden and i really recomend you to sail in the archipelago of gothenburg and on the eastside stockholm. Stockholm have 30000 islands....But, both denmark and germany are better for a liveaboard. Sweden is nice but i should go for denmark or germany (cheaper to live to). And all marinas are better for your plans. But summertime sweden is lovely...

I live in sweden, stockholm

Thanks for the replys, my wife and I are at the moment in Svendborg and are very inpressed with the town, there seem to be a few livaboards here at the moment, we also looked at Nyborg and Kerterminde which have all the yachting facilitys anyone would ever need. We will see where we end up, but at the moment Svendborg looks the lickly one.
We will be spending a lot of our time in Sweden also, may have to spend a few more years here than we planned but hey ho thats the hard life of living aboard!!!!!
