winter yacht storage in Greece

I have a 41ft contest currently on the hard at Preveza, Greece. my wife and I hope to get round to the Aegean side, insh'allah, this autumn.and would need a good and not too expensive yard anywhere from the west Peleponesus(!) to the Turkish coat. I know this is a wide area but would appreciate all and any experiences or ideas that you would care to share with me. Many thanks in advance

We have been at the Evros yard/marina on Leros, in the town of Lakki, for the past 2 years with no problems. It seems to be about the least expensive option that we could find in the Greek Aegean where the prices were comparable to the many excellent Turkish marinas. Also on Leros is the Agmar marina in Lakki with their yard at the other end of the island.

Their prices are similar. My bill for 12 months was about 1600 Euros at the Evros yard for 34ft. The Agmar people quoted me 1700 for the same period.

Leros has daily flights and ferries to Athens/Piraeus

The new marina at Samos, in Pythagorion, is better than either in Leros but they quoted me 2200 euros. There is also a small marina (part of a much larger marina development in progress) in Karlovasi at the other end of Samos and there is a small boat yard there with a number of yachts in it. The prices for an overnight stay in the Marina were very cheap - approx 10 euros/night - but I haven't a clue how much a winter contract would be.

Samos has regular international flights to Northern Europe and frequent ferries to Piraeus.

This is not a definitive listing by any means but I hope it is of some help.

my boat was on dry at this place and the people & service are very good (launched on 17 feb 2009)
the bay, is one of the best protected anchorage in greece
the place is only about 10 nm north of porto heli !
highly recommended !
