A friend has a Bavaria 30 and is thinking of storing over winter in Holyhead, or thereabouts, any recommendations? His boat is Dublin based and the over winter storage rates are very unattractive.

Thanks,

PWR

Dickies (Bangor, Gwynedd) is still the cheapest available* in the region, but you'll have to pre_book with Debbi Hughes (01248 363400 or info@dickies.co.uk)

Rates for a 30' boat are £20.20 a week plus lift out and shoring or cradle.

*Yes there are cheaper places but they are all pre-booked.

Just to add to the equations, most yards in this area say that they will no longer store fin keels without a cradle. No more sawn telegraph poles. Something to do with those nice people at HS&E, allegedly!

He could try Holyhead Marina. Not sure what the prices are - almost certainly not cheap. He'll need to book in good time.

Quite a few people winter store in the Straits. Hopefully, you'll get some more detailed replies to that effect.

Good luck. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
