When everyone is dry, they keep warmer much better. So being able to duck below to dry out, and also the effect of a wood stove pulling in fresh air dries the boat out beautifully.

The smallest boat I know of is an 18' clinker boat. You can get some very small stoves. This one - http://marinestore.co.uk/page/mrst/PROD/solid-fuel-stove/DA3126 - is diddy. 18" high, 9" deep.

Probably not very practical on a GRP boat....
