Well my buddy Kieren hired a Sunsail boat for the weekend so we could all practice our skills before doing our YM exams.

We all had a cracking weekend with plenty of chart work practice being done whilst on the move (under sail of course) including blind pilotage/navigation.

Yes it was rough weather but really the Solent never gets too bad, so where was everyone else?!?! It's Monday morning and I'm as bouncy as a Tigger thing. It's great to be alive.

Now thinking of lifting in the summer and sailing in the winter /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Sadly some of us have to have maintainance work done. And we lose less good sailing in the winter. The last weekend wasn't nice in all parts of the country.

This has been our first year keeping her in the water.
We went out three days running after Boxing Day. Couple of days not much wind, but so much space that I got a chance to practice manouvering (wrong spelling, I know) our relatively new boat alongside jetties, through locks and up and down channels. No pressure, winter sunshine, loads of space. Luvverly.

Didn't even go across the Chi bar, but enjoyed ourselves nonetheless.

Don't tell everyone - they all think winters for jobbing on boats in yards ....
The real knowledge is that WE know winter is great and also free of rafting up in most places .... cracking sunny days - crisp air etc........... love it !

Hi

you were lucky.

I was out, but not a breath of wind.

Around 20C, but no wind. What sort of sailing is that ? Beer weather !
