Skin Fitting Advice
Hi All,
Well having owned my new (to us) pride and joy Sunseeker Portofino since April this year I am sorry to say that she is now out of the water having engine surgery and so my boating will be on hold for a while.
Trying to turn a bad situation into something positive I have taken the opportunity to do a few jobs which can only be done whilst the boat is out of the water. So I have stripped all the years of anti-foul off and got back to bare gel coat, i've had all the sea cocks removed for replacement and I have got all the skin fittings out.
I soaked all the locking nuts and washers in brick acid for a few hours to see what they'd clean up like and they show clear sign's of "Pinking" as you can hopefully see in the picture below:

Result, a no brainer, replace them
The actual skin fittings (an example below) look in really good nick though and I believe are Bronze and therefore I am wondering whether I need to replace or whether I could just re-use:

The picture below shows a slight bit of pitting inside, does this look significant?

Is there a general consensus of how long Bronze skin fittings last (they were bonded in) and whether, based on the above, they could be re-installed with new back nuts?
Thanks,
Andrew
