Winter in Weymouth v East Cowes

I think they're covering their backs. Do you intend living aboard? Longer stays have never been a problem
OK great clarification! Same as most places, covering their backs. I will speak to the Harbour Master when I arrive. But over 5 months it's only 250 cheaper than the offer Boatfolk gave me. I'll have to check out the vibe on the north pontoon.

Can’t believe the crazy marina prices in UK compared to the rest of Europe - especially in winter. And when did UK winter contracts start in November!! The ferry from Cherbourg to Portsmouth is about £25 for a foot passenger. Lots of marina on the French north coast at 1/3rd of the cost. Pop over to Guernsey to reset the VAT clock every 18 months. Even in the Med winter prices are cheap. They do 10 moth contacts so you can anchor for two months and that cuts the annual fee by half (in Sardinia for example).
Do you have any real details of your 10 month example cited. Very interested to know. Thanks.

Contacting marinas in med is tricky unless you show up! But one very good marina that answers emails is Portus Karalis in Cagliari - address email to Andreas and ask for 12month contract / 10month and 11 month. Only found this type of contract in the Med.
