I don't know what the Haven charges but if it's not a huge difference I'd pick Pendennis for the extra shelter & car parking. It's still in the middle of town - 2 minutes from the Maritime museum, supermarket and surrounding bars/restaurants. Mylor & Pendennis would make a good winter selection - varied enough but both lovely.

I'm struck by the resemblance of Dona Amelia to the smaller ' Amazon ' owned by Arthur Lowe of Dad's Army; presumably a popular look in those times as sail gave way to steam ( alright diesel in D.A.'s case ).

(I see you are currently on a buoy just N of the N-S pontoon). The slot in the first (north) bay (east side) between Christina and ?Skybird? might just be big enough for you. Pointing N in this slot, you would fend off the worst of the N/NWlys. Easterlies are attenuated by the pontoon. The worst slots are those subject to the fetch across from Flushing, which bounces boats onto the pontoon.

I would. It's not a propwr marina and I would not be confident that someone will be looking after your boat in a blow, whereas in Pendennis I'm sure they will, and as FalMince has already said, Pendennis is just about in the perfect position to be fully protected from all directions.
 
In the olden days in case of bad weather we would take boats up to Penryn and moor along the SW side behind the buildings https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.1681003,-5.098705,322m/data=!3m1!1e3
rather than leave them on the outside of Town Quay or on moorings. SE is the problem, seen a yacht with its mast through the back window of M&S. Even now a FV on swing mooring at Mylor goes to Flushing if SE forecast, you can see that the Mylor moorings have extended massively out into Carrick roads, and out of the shelter. Of course, if you are aboard there are many nooks and corners to run to. In Helford with E winds we would either anchor in Port Navas (although you had to move again when it went SW), or go on the the mud S side of Frenchman's Creek. E wind in Helford if very strong is disastrous, there was a 40ft FV trying to help with getting boats off the beach at the Shipwrights, suddenly dropped on the ground, water left and he was frantically fitting his legs a few minutes later when the water came back. It's down to the bar, either just below the Ferryboat or just below Durgan.
 
I reckon we'll see quite serious restrictions on these drones pretty soon, after prats flying them over nuclear bases and around airports; and as I expect your'e aware one needs a licence to use them commercially even now.

Rednecks in America already using them for target practice ' as violating our privacy ' - and I can see their point.

Also needs a ' come to mother ' failsafe when it loses signal.

If you get in quick you may have some fun & good footage but the future is restricted with a big 'R'.

Loved seeing Portscatho again; & there can't be a better address in the world than ' St Just In Roseland ' !
