Winter boating pic wanted!

I need a great pic of the Thames with boats, people looking happy, sunshine and the river in view - for the front of the next Riverviews customer magazine. I'm sure you'll tell me if you think I'm being cheeky asking you guys but as seasoned Thames types, I thought you might have something that might work? Our decent pics are either void of people or not wintery enough! It needs to be high resolution and portrait rather than landscape. Thanks in advance......

I like the pic and they all look happy but Im afraid it's not wintery enough - woman in the front with the t-shirt and green leaves on the trees. Have you got any more wintry ones H?

Not with people in i'm afraid .....

Have a look through the website www.teddington-lock.co.uk , check the 'Latest News' section as well as the 'Photo Gallery' , if you can see any you like , just ask and i'll dig out a hi res.

Unfortunately, Im afraid I dont /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Not tended to be out on the river during wintry weather in recent years - more likely to find me on the Nile or in OZ /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Also, if you think about it, we've had several very mild winters with little snow.

Or better,still finding a Thames Boater who can use a lock without having to read the instructions 3 times,but then only after waiting in vain for somebody else to come along and open it for him.:D /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
 
Yep, had a slipper launch owner like that last week in the ever desolate Hurley Lock.
I closed the gates and raised the sluices (yes I can read), then left him to open the gates...and waited....and waited.....

In the end he got the message but really point is should not have been necessary as we pay for TWELVE MONTHS river use not nine. Service is poorer than it was 5 years ago. Perhaps a photo of how the river USED to be run?

Come on guys,

don't give young Angela stick - the poor lass only asked for some pics!

Seriously though, in the last few (three ?) years it's been difficult to get out as I for one could not go far as nearby locks up or down have been closed for "improvements. Not that I'm complaining - just observing.

When you're boating in the winter season the main objective is keeping warm, not taking snaps...
