Does anyone have experience of winter berthing afloat in any of the Plymouth marinas? Any problems from wind or waves, or others for that matter?

Yacht Haven. Do not get on P1 or P2 Pontoons. Every one laughs at the size of my ropes. But I went through three sets last year. Luckily got move inside now so much better. Bet some areas of QAB could get a bit nasty.

Haydn, before I come down I have to do a weeks weightlifting and then pray your ropes aren't wet!

I would think the most sheltered marina has to be Sutton Harbour by the Barbican, it's only accessible through a lock.

Undoubtably John, except it's full, no room at the inn. So about as much use as a chocolate fire guard!!

outer pontoons in the mayflower can be a bit exposed, or that is what the challenge skippers reckon and they are there full time.

Come on brain.get this over and i can go back to killing you with beer

Sutton Harbour is well protected and is the best of the main four. Despite the other comments there are berths its just a case of finding someone who is lifting their boat and wants to sub-let
