Any Glass Merchant should be able to supply you with Toughened Glass. Try your local man. If you have problems I could give you the names of some of my customers in your area.

Thanks for that. I've been judging height required with reference to the existing sprayhood: I've already decided that the new one (of whatever form) will be 3" higher to avoid hitting my head as I do currently. I raised the boom by 5" at the start of the season as the first step (sharp intake of breath from the racing fraternity) and despite dire predictions to the contrary have experienced no significant increase in tenderness.

The difficulty does come down to looks and proportions. Fitting a fixed screen would allow me to make the front angle much shallower than the existing hood which would tie in better with the angles of the superstructure and side windows. Whether it would allow a full doghouse that didn't look silly...?

This discussion has given me a few new ideas, however, and I'll have another look and think about it at the weekend.

Re: Dave S colour matching

It's odd, isn't it: a sprayhood of almost any shape is acceptable - and some are strange indeed. Perhaps its because it's canvas and subconciously regarded as "temporary", whereas far more exacting standards are applied to fixed structures? As said elsewhere I'm going to have another look at it this weekend and think some more.

Thanks to all.
