Hello, i am currently in the middle of a restoration of a Port Hamble Pacemaker 19. Im beginning to think about a windscreen for the new year and would appreciate any ideas on how to go about. Ive thought about classic car screens or screens from other speed boats? Or most probably going to have to have one made up. Does anyone know of any companies that do this near the south west? And also anyone got an idea on price im thinking a fair few hundred...? Thanks in advance.

here is a picture of my boat and another with the sort of screen im looking for.

I made a small curved screen for a kit car from plastic by building a former and using a hot air gun and gravity, in principal it should work for a bigger screen.

A curved windscreen in Perspex or other acrylic can be made as Macnorton says above, or if you make the former and find a plastics company specialising in vac-forming and fabrication they might do it - they could heat the acrylic in one piece on the bed of a vac-forming machine. Also they could polish the edges. You will need to use material around 6mm for it to be strong enough.
Another option might be to use a car windscreen (from a Triumph Spitfire, MG Midget or what ever). Ebay is your friend as ever. This would need a timber frame though as the car industries' steel was never very rust-proof.
