Am changing my windows to new Polycarbonate Sheets. Does anyone have experience in adding those UV protecting films as known for car and home windows?
Would it work on Polycarb? Stick there, stay there and not spoil the surface if replacing is needed?

Crazing would still be a problem as the film goes on the inside, it will be murder trying to get it off polycarb, on glass you have to use a razor blade or some similar very sharp edge to get it off ,i think it would cut the polycarb up pretty much. how about just going to tinted ports/windows?........keith

My trimaran has tinted safety glass in her windows, one of which was broken when I purchased the boat. I made a template and had a new one made by a large glazing supplier. They have to cut the glass first and then heat treat it. It is a bit of mucking around but once installed you have windows that dont scratch or degrade. The window had been broken by the bowsprit of a wayward extreme racing boat so it wasnt due to any inherent weakness in the glass.

Cheers

Thanks Keith, I am using tinted ones already. Thanks to the ozone hole, th UV really attacks it no matter what. So I am trying to find some extra protection to prevent the new ones from deteriorating too quick.
