Both my front windows leak badly, it seems to be the rubber between the aluminium frame and glass that is the problem.

My boat is a 1970's JGM Madeira which has aluminium frames typical of that time, many other boats have similar windows (Seamaster and Broom come to mind).

Does anyone know what type of rubber seal was used on these?

Hi Simon, if you can pull a little piece out and look at the rubber section, you can get a matching piece from a company called seals direct they have a vast range and are very help full.

Don't forget if you have drain holes in the aluminium section they get blocked and might need a clean out. Can resolve some leaking issues if the water has somewhere else to run out! I found the dinghy air pump quite good at clearing the holes.

The glass is usually bonded into the frame with silicone sealer and then smoothed off to look like rubber, so probably not an off the shelf part. I would check first.
