I am relacing the acrylic windows on my boat. They are set into the topside just below the gunwale, bit like on a HR. They are not in a frame and secured by screws to the hull. The original are on a non setting black mastic with a small foam insert around the edge of the acrylic. Can some one advise on best product for re-fixing, thanks

first. dont use sikaflex. If ever you need to do the job again youl have an issue shifting it.
The foam you mention is very good and you can get various widths. finish off with, as original, a flexible sealer with a mould resist. you can then re dress that as required without removing the window again

ghyll - if you decide to buy the ARCO tape as 'pvr' suggests and want have too much then I'm in the market for 5 metres or so at pro rata - I too am replacing acrylic windows but the boat is rather small and I wouldn't ever use the remaining 20 metres from the minimum order length.

Yes it does have a sticky backing. It is 5 years since I used tape from ARCO Rubber and I went into their local depot and saw what I was buying. I thought it was neoprene. Just make sure I have listed the correct product before ordering.

Ghyll. I did this job two weeks ago. Found a guy on line called Jean Pierre of Hadlow marine. He was great, quick, accurate, mail order turn around in less than a week and at about 160 for 4 windows and all the screws/ scarpa tape etc I thought a good deal. He was very helpful. If you cant find him and want too let me know and I'll dig out the contact details.
