I have a Dell Quay Ranger 28' boat and am trying to obtain, with difficulty, the material that goes in the chanel which allows the windows, x4, to slide open. I think it was called 'Schlegal' or something like that. It was a type of nylon construction.
Can anyone help?

Bill,

Try one of the marine window manufacturers, like Crouch Marine Windows. They should be able to help. I doubt if the stuff you are talking about is schlegel pile. Is it a furry strip which has a hard plastic backing which fits into a groove in the alloy extrusion. If so that is schlegel pile. I don't know what the stuff is called that is U shaped and sits inside a channel, but I suspect this is what you are talking about. Some old cars had this sort of slidey stuff so it might be worth trying vehicle trimmers too.

Good Luck,

Bill.
