Does anyone have any experience of making aluminium window frames from suitable extrusions? Or a contact for suppliers of the frames themselves?

Salford House Services in Sevenoaks will make frames for you or refurbish old windows. They don't have a web site as far as I know but a search on this forum back for a few weeks will find their phone number. They also advertise in pbo

Re: Salford house services

I tried them. Sent hardboard templates as requested by courier chased for 2 months but never even got a quote from them. I would try elsewhere.

Hi Halcyon23,

Try this company:
C and J International Windows
Unit 10
Peacocks Industrial Estate
Providence Street
Cradley Heath
West Midlands B64 5DG

Tel: 01384 411884

Ask for Jan, who is a totally delightful and helpful lady. They recently made new windows for my Fulmar, and the standard of materials and workmanship was outstanding. If she can't sort out your requirements, she will know someone who can.

Very highly recommended company.

Hope this helps

Jerry

Dear Halcyon23 (!)

I did once try and bend up some window frames for a camper van from aluminium "U" extrusion - absolute nightmare! I think that unless you have a bending roll with the right dies, it's a non-starter. Eventuallly ended up fabricating them from steel sheet.

It's only money.....

Andy
