I have a 12v 900W windlass which is operated by a simple reversing polarity rocker switch. I want to operate the windlass via a remote control. I believe I need a DPDT (double pole double throw) relay switch of about 75A. Does anyone know where I could obtain such a relay that I could use via the remote. The remote is one of the simple Chinese made twin button (up - down) type. Many thanks.

From your description, it sounds as if you have a 2-wire motor on your windlass. The best solution would be to buy a proper windlass reversing solenoid, such as the Quick T503 (eg from here). You can download the technical info here, which shows how to wire it all up.

Hi Pvb and thanks for the info and links to supplier and wonderful wireing diagrams. Without a doubt its one of those illustrated that would do the job. Many thanks again Flichobay
