Windlass ???? Stupid question time

My newly acquired Draco has a windlass for the Anchor, all I see is a slot in the round bit with the gypsy on. How do I use it?

where exactly is slot ? presume it's electric. Has it got a sort of wing nut on top, with a plain winch drum underneath?

Look around for a bit of metal with an end that fits into the slot.................its called a handle? <BG>

(Im assuming its manual and you need to handle crank it)

And tell us What the thingy on the watsit is doing or not doing.
