I stood on my Quick HRC1002 2 Switch Windlass Remote Control where plug screws into the socket in the anchor locker. The threaded socket barrel snapped off and a pin broke in the male part of the plug. A new set can be bought online but does anyone know if they can be repaired and if so who might do it?

Cheers

The wiring is quite simple. Do you need to unplug the remote? If it can be left in place just cut off the plug and join (crimps or solder with heatshrink) the remote wires to wires leading to solenoid. The hardwire connection will be more reliable and easier than a plug.

The remote units fail reasonably frequently so while you have the wiring appart consider adding a second means of activating the winch (if you don’t have this already) as a back up. The wireless remote units as suggested by Ceejay are a good choice. If you fit a wireless unit the wired remote will probably rarely be used.
