How do i find out the amps drawn on the switch side of the relay. I think it is volts that actually operate the relay and there is WAY TOO MUCH information out there on the heavy current side. I am asking in relation to discover the correct size of wiring for the windlass which is 1500W using a T105 relay. It’s around 13m there and back to where i want the switch. I have been obsessive about voltage drop and cable overloading but can’t find any amps to plug into my calculator

There are lots of T105 relays, you'd need to be more specific for an accurate answer. But, regardless, the relay will take next to nothing. Why not measure the coil resistance and work it out yourself?

Just got home. Thanks guys.
the old system had the battery up at the sharp end and is now entirely removed. I have cleaned the contacts and found the springs again ?. Not aware that there was more than one T105 so apologies for my lack of clarity. Measuring the coil resistance sounds like fun …but isn’t this a family oriented forum ??
