On our last anchor we stayed over night so left a lot of chain out , on retrieving anchor the breaker popped which is not a problem but its under the saloon floor. so quite annoying especially if anchor is half way up.

so my choices of solving this issue are

Move breaker switch above floor - looks like a big job cutting floor for thick wires to come up and re positioning the breaker in a good spot

make a hole or window in the floor so hand can slip in and rearm.

move breaker to the anchor cupboard itself?

add battery closer to the anchor to avoid power running all a long the boat to lift anchor?

Any other ideas to solve the issue?

service the windlass motor maybe as well? Brushes worn, dirty?
I have the breakers (one for passerelle, one for windlass and one for air compressor) in a el.box by the engineroom door, just above the batteries. Easily accessible in my boat at least.
Seen Princesses having them in the salon sofa lockers or thereabouts, easier to reach.

PS. should I say welcome back? haven't seen you for a v.long time!
