Some silly bu@@er of a sea gull must have perched on Tigger's windex arms (the v-shaped ones with the little red squares at the ends). Result: one of the arms broke and landed (fortunately ) on deck.

After a trip to the Chandler's (thanks Bosun's Locker Chandlery - the most tempting hole in the Far West /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif) to discover that a new one would have cost £29.95, I popped over to the local knitting shop opposite which sells needles that match perfectly all the fittings: at £2.95 a pair, a bit of snipping and shaping with pliers produced a perfect replaqcement for the Windex arms (even the cover for the aluminium seems the same). Admittedly I did not get a new windvane, but that is still serviceable for a few more years.

Thought I'd share this tip...

That's a good tip- when I had the same problem (one complete arm/tab disappeared into the oggin) I contacted Windex (in Sweden I think) and they generously sent me a replacement kit of tabbed arms f.o.c.
