Any fellow Windermere boaters know if the floating jetty work has started at "Aquatic" if so please give an update on the progress.

Cheers Ian

Last year we were at Aquatic but switched this year to the Marina Village which we personally preferred but I know people that have done it the other way around.

We prefer the atmosphere of the Marina Village and it is much more sheltered but not as convenient for walking into Bowness.

In our experience the staff at both places are friendly and helpful.

Hi Martyn.
Village is indeed a pleasant spot, very nice pool and bar area! We have been at Aquatic for 2 seasons and agree that the staff are very helpfull. Considering moving however, depending on the outcome of the new marina arrangement as plans do not seem to be sympathetic to smaller craft such as ours. May have to upgrade just to get a decent berth "Oh the expence of it all !!"

Thanks Dave I will appreciate any reports on progress. I will not be able to get there for a few weeks due to work and Holiday commitments. Are you also Aquatic?

Update

Had a look this morning.

All boats have been cleared from the pontoons behind the Boatshed but all pontoons still there for the time being. Car park half full of boats (normal winter storage).

Pontoons behind shops still full of boats

And bloody cold!!

Re: Update

Martyn

Thanks for the update. Really think they need to make a start if they intend finishing by April. Going up myself on Sunday, feel a new boat coming on. 24 or 26 Ciera. what do you think ?

Regards

Re: Update

Ian

I would go for the 26, the extra room makes a lot of difference and if you are keeping it on Windermere a nice 8hp Perkins Diesel should do the trick :-)

(I had a 97 2655 with the 5.7L and there was plenty of power there)

Say what you will about them, the new Bayliners do give tremendous value for money

Re: Update

Thanks for that I will take on board your comments. I agree Bayliner are fantastic value, I dont think you can get any other comparible boat for the money. Granted that Sealine etc. are better finished but the price reflects this fact. Furthermore I consider that the Ciera's are still one of the best looking boats in there class.
