windboats in administration

Nope.

Many business's need steady income - we all know that, and it's all well and good getting staff furloughed and easement on rents and so forth, but the bills pile up. I think we will all be paying for this Corona for 20 years in terms of higher taxes - but so be it - I think the Govt could have acted much faster, however what they have done was necessary to keep the economy afloat - but the cost is beyond anything I can get my head around both in terms of what they have paid out and what they are not taking in in terms of fuel duty, VAT, Corporation Tax and so on.

No redundancies yet though, they are high quality builders with a highly skilled workforce

Blimming shame.
Excellent quality boats actually built for the water.
Knew owners with boats at both ends of their range , was very impressed with a baby Hardy 25 that helped bring round from the Thames a few years ago . A comfortable, confident long legged and super quiet little sea boat even out in the Thames estuary.
They had obviously spent time and money on insulation and exhaust noise.
Build like little brick outhouse with good quality fittings securely fastened to boat and decks wide enough to actually walk on.
Quality and durable interior fit out.
Unfortunately not what todays buyer appears to demand from a boat.
Broom suffered the same fate.

Yep. Brought the same type of boat back from Falmouth to Solent over a few days, no problem. Very solid sea boats. Windboats were doing a good job of bringing the interior designs up to date particularly the 32. I think they might reappear when this is all over.

There must be market for boats with the design philosophy of the Broom and Hardy but not in the volumes to make any money.
