Wind vane

I've been given an old Plastimo Navik wind vane, much to my delight I can tell you, but I'm not sure how to fit it since I have an outboard.

Can they be fitted offset to one side, or are there alternatives. Ideally I'd like to fit a small inboard engine, but that sort of expense remains in the realms of dreams at the moment, so I'd be most welcome to suggestions?

This matter has been discussed before on that forum. I have a Walt Murray design under construction and its to be mounted off centre. The only problem I can see is having the self steering tiller arm clear the outboard, the oar needs to tilt 30 degrees each side. I'm expecting there will be some difference to the self steering on each tack but isn't there always.
Plenty of self steering videos on youtube too which may help.

Think you will find teh Navik must be fitted centrally. Ive fitted a few to Vegas and they work very well indeed.
