Thinking of buying a windpilot this coming summer. From contact thru internet seems a good product and a single handed Belgian said he was well pleased with his Pacific light.Apart from that are the commercial dealings with the company straightforward as I will be ordering and paying by visa.

Thoroughly recommend Peter Forthmann to deal with. He is very helpful.
Very happy with the Windpilot Pacific that I had for an Atlantic Circuit.
Download his book for free from the website.

Just a happy past owner.

Crossed the Atlantic this Nov/Dec in a 36-footer carrying a Windpilot. Excellent piece of kit that did as well as the Monitor on my own boat, except possibly on dead downwind courses.

I've used both the Windpilot Pacific Light and the Windpilot Pacific. Supposedly the Pacific Light is for boats smaller than 30 feet, but I believe that it has the oomph to handle a bigger boat. The Windpilot Pacific I used was with a wheel steered boat and I found it much harder to adjust as I did with both an Aries and a Monitor on a wheeled steered boat. My Windpilot Pacific Light has done over 30,000 NM so I have had to replace parts on one occassion and found Peter Forthmann's after sales service to be excellent.

+1

I needed a spare, he answered (actually called by phone) the same day asking if I wanted extra fast delivery or regular, I had it at home (France) about three-four days later. IIRC my credit card was debited the following week...

I discovered he had even put us on its blog a few months earlier :shy:
