Clearly it's windy but not yet as bad as forecast - Bramblemet and channel buoy (ex-lightship) max 41 knots so far

Same in Poole. Maximum at the yacht club overnight in the mid 40s. Depression seemed to track a bit further south so mid channel will be higher and expect Cherbourg would have been right in the path.

Our biggest gust is also 41kn. If the world was flat, I’d be looking straight on to Sword beach right now, 100 odd miles away.
