Having watched the Gunfleet farm grow out of the sea during 2009 I would not have a problem with them if I thought they were going to produce the amount of electricity promised .

What I havnt heard any one say yet is how much greenhouse gas is produced in constructing & and erecting these things.. And how long is the "Pay Back"

Thanks for that Clive.Lots of info but I couldnt find the answers to my specific question

IE :" how much greenhouse gas is produced in constructing & and erecting the turbines. Taking all factors into account including transport, and how long it takes to pay back those greenhouse gases"

i'm still not convived that wind power is the real long term answer - nuclear is coming no matter what.

Out at sea wind farms are acceptable. On the dengie peninsula they are not welcome as far as we local residents are concerned.

Anyway if the french nuclear stations blow up we're in deep trouble regardless of home grown nuclear, so the 'we're all doomed' scenario is here anyway............
