Hi,

I'm trying to buy the bearings or pedestal maintenance kit for a Whitlock Constellation 400 pedestal:

and have asked Cliff at winchservicing for a price for either the kit, or the bits, (spoke to him on the phone, and followed up by email). Also asked for a price for conduit and cables.

This was 23rd September and I have heard nothing since, (sent a reminder email last night).

I appreciate that he probably spends all day on boats etc... but does anyone know if there is a problem which could cause such a delay.... (I'm reluctant to ask, but are they always a bit slow?).

used cliff last winter to service my whitlock pedestal off our dehler and found him hlepful , reliable and reasonable in price and approach - would recommend him without reservation , hope you make contact and find him as good as we did - emsworth based and works from home (or at least was last winter) no tie in with him other than as happy customer

Kind of wanted to give Cliff the benefit as he seems to be well recommended here, and seemed like a nice guy when I spoke to him. He also gave me some good advice and info on the phone and by email.

However... have called yachtparts this afternoon, (Thursday), and got a call back from Andy who said he was waiting for a call from lewmar with confirmation that they can supply the kit, and a price to Manchester. Said he would call or email me tomorrow... we'll see.

I used lewmars site to find spares suppliers, and presumed that they probably wont supply direct to consumers.

Cliff has beeen useful and speedy in ordering new pedestal and plate for my Dehler - parts came quickly and being delivered today.
Perhaps its better to buy a Dehler !!!!
