Winchrite battery swap

In case anyone is interested, I've just successfully managed to put new batteries in my Winchrite. Reasonably easy of you can solder. Took about an hour.

Got the new batteries off ebay for about £35.

Yep, I’m interested, my v5.1 Winchrite is dead which I suspect is the battery pack. Where & what type/make of batteries did you use? Any advice or cautions?

All quite straightforward. You need to get some solder ribbon, and the batteries. This is what I used:-
