Why not compromise and get a true motorsailer such as a Fisher? If you don't feel like sailing just potter around, but if the wind is just right hoist the sails and enjoy a gentle sail. Being a motorsailer you don't have to feel too guilty about using the engine when others bashing to windward.

I once chartered a 30 ft Grand Banks for a week and had a delightful time. Couldn't go more than 8 knots but didn't really matter as I was not in great hurry. Helming from the flying bridge was a bit of a novelty, but the steps may get a bit tricky when the ol pins start to fail! Great sitting in deckchairs on the afterdeck, with BBQ and beer, and watching the sunset. A real gentleman's power boat.
