Will this work?

Before I go cutting stuff up do you think this will work? I have an old hatch cover which I was thinking of cutting the middle out of and putting in some plastic glass stuff from an old sprayhood I have, to make a kind of double glazing effect to be used in the winter so as to let light in but also cut down on condensation.

I have a voyager 35 and every winter I "double glaze" my windows. It keeps the condensation off them beautifully. My only concern is where the moisture goes if not on the glass.

I used to tape bubblewrap to the underside of the hatches on my last boat in the UK. By making sure it was properly sealed and that the 2" wide clear tape covered all the aluminium of the opening frame, it cut down the condensation to nil.
