will this anchor hold?

Hi all fishing a mark on my mates boat 2morrow,the last time he tried to fish it he used a danforth anchor and could not hold bottom.I said we could use mine but his boat is a lot bigger than mine,will a 5 kg bruce anchor hold a 7 tone 34 ft nelson any help tah.

I reckon you'll need 15kg's.

and get a load of scope out as well... chain preffered....

figure 4-1 scope all chain with 12-15kgs should do the trick, but it depends on the bottom, current, wind, everything...

If you aint staying in place, put out more scope..... I never feel comfortable with less than 5-1 scope....

Depends on the bottom and how deep..... I have a 2kg bruce and I amazed at what it will hold in.

What size was the Danforth ?

I told you all before on a previous post, two old washing machines or an old Ford Escort on the end of a good lump of rope is all you need, not all this worry about Bruces, Danforths, CQR's and Rocnas.
